NLC India Limited Commissions Additional 106 MW Solar Capacity at Barsingsar
The Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RRECL) has granted the commissioning certificate on 2nd November 2025, confirming the successful completion of this milestone.
New Delhi: NLC India Limited (NLCIL), a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Coal, Government of India, has successfully commissioned an additional 106 MW solar capacity at its 300 MW Barsingsar Solar Power Project in Rajasthan. With this, the total commissioned capacity of the project now stands at 158.83 MW, following the earlier commissioning of 52.83 MW.

The project is being developed using indigenously manufactured, high efficiency bifacial solar PV modules, aligning with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative and contributing to domestic manufacturing growth.
This milestone is a step forward in realizing the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of achieving energy transition through enhanced renewable capacity and has been made possible under the guidance and encouragement of Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Hon’ble Minister of Coal & Mines, Government of India. The Hon’ble Minister of Coal & Mines congratulated NLCIL on this achievement through his tweet, commending the company’s efforts and emphasizing that such initiatives are driving the Nation’s sustainable growth and clean energy journey.
With this commissioning, the total installed renewable energy capacity of NLCIL has reached 1,588.83 MW. During the previous financial year, the Company generated over 2 Billion Units (BU) of green power, and with this latest capacity addition, the quantum of clean energy generation is expected to further rise, reinforcing NLCIL’s contribution to India’s sustainable energy future.

NLCIL plans to commission the balance capacity by December 2025, achieving the full 300 MW capacity within the scheduled timeline.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director, NLC India Limited, stated:

NLCIL is steadfastly pursuing its renewable energy expansion plan with an aim to achieve 10 GW of Renewable Energy capacity by 2030, in addition to ongoing solar and wind projects across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Assam, and Tamil Nadu. These initiatives reaffirm our commitment to India’s national renewable energy targets and our vision of a cleaner, greener future.”
