New Delhi: The 47th Meeting of the Standing Committee on Safety in Mines was held in New Delhi on April 13, 2022. The meeting was chaired by the Hon'ble Minister of Coal, Shri Pralhad Joshi.
Dr Anil Kumar Jain, IAS, Coal Secretary, Govt. of India, Shri Pramod Agrawal, Chairman, CIL, Shri C. K. Mondol, Director (Commercial) and Nominated Owner of Coal Mines of NTPC, Shri Partha Mazumder, RED (Coal Mining), CMDs of subsidiary companies of CIL, NLC, SCCL, trade union leaders and senior officials from other Pvt. sector coal mining companies also attended the meeting.
Speaking on occasion, Shri C. K. Mondol, Director (Commercial) and Nominated Owner of Coal Mines of NTPC said “NTPC is taking necessary steps to implement the valuable recommendations of the Standing Committee on Safety”.
During the meeting, discussions were held on various safety issues in coal mines and measures to achieve zero harm. A presentation was made by the Ministry of Coal highlighting safety initiatives of CIL, NTPC Coal mining business and other coal mining companies.
