NEW DELHI- Oil India Limited jointly organized a media outreach program on May 1, 2023, under the aegis of the Press Information Bureau - PIB, Government of India. The objective of the program was to sensitize the regional media about the oil industry in India and its different facets so that they are well-equipped to report on the fast-paced developments in the sector.
The meeting was attended by the who's who of the regional media, including editors, bureau chiefs, and star journalists.
Read Also : NLCIL Employees Wins 3rd prize in state level 'Enviro-Solver Hackathon'The program began with an overview of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas presented by the Additional Director General, PIB, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas & Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs Shri Rajeev Jain. Thereafter, an overview of OIL & NRL was presented by CGM (PR), OIL Shri Ranjan Goswami, and GM (CC), NRL Ms Madhuchanda Adhikari.
In the interactive session that followed, CMD OIL and Chairman NRL Dr. Ranjit Rath addressed the house and spoke about the roadmap carved out for OIL to enhance exploration activities in new places in Assam.

This outreach program may has equipped the regional media with a better understanding of the nuances while reporting on the oil and gas sector in general and OIL and NRL in particular, who continue to be major players in Assam's growth story.
