R. P. Goyal takes additional charge of NHPC CMD Second time
Director (Finance) of NHPC, Shri R.P. Goyal, took over the additional charge as NHPC's Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) on 1st July 2025. Earlier, Shri Goyal has also held the charge of post of CMD, NHPC from 01.03.2024 to 07.08.2024.

New Delhi, July 2, 2025: Shri R.P. Goyal, Director (Finance), NHPC, has taken over the additional charge of the post of CMD, NHPC on 1st July 2025. Earlier, Shri Goyal has also held the charge of post of CMD, NHPC from 01.03.2024 to 07.08.2024. Shri Goyal joined NHPC on 18th November 1988 as a Finance Professional, and he has risen the professional ladder by virtue of an utmost sense of responsibility, ethics and dedication to the Company.
Shri Goyal is a member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India & also holds a Master’s Degree in Commerce from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. He has vast experience of more than 36 years in NHPC in the core areas of Finance, coupled with an in-depth understanding of Financial, Contractual & Regulatory issues involved in the construction & operation of hydropower projects.

Shri Goyal is also Chairman of Jal Power Corporation Limited, Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited & NHPC Renewable Energy Limited & Nominee Director on the Board of NHDC Limited, Chenab Valley Power Projects Private Limited, Ratle Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited and Loktak Downstream Hydroelectric Corporation Limited which are Subsidiary Companies of NHPC. He is also holding post of Director (Finance), National Power Training Institute, Faridabad.
Shri Goyal’s leadership qualities, ability for hard work, conceptual clarity and professionalism are excellent.
