Raj Kumar Chaudhary appointed as CMD of NHPC Ltd
Ministry of Power (MoP), Govt. of India has appointed Shri Raj Kumar Chaudhary, Director (Technical), NHPC to the post of Chairman and Managing Director, NHPC Limited for a period w.e.f. the date of his assumption of charge of the post till the date of his superannuation i.e. 30.06.2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Shri Raj Kumar Chaudhary assumed the charge of the post of Chairman and Managing Director, at NHPC Limited on 07.08.2024. It is also to inform that consequent to the above, Shri Rajendra Prasad Goyal, Director (Finance), NHPC ceases to hold the additional charge of the post of Chairman and Managing Director, NHPC Ltd.

He joined NHPC in 1989 as a Probationary Executive (Civil) at Koel Karo HEP, Jharkhand. Shri Chaudhary steadily rose in his career to the post of Chairman & Managing Director, at NHPC. Earlier, he was also the Director (Technical) of NHPC.
Shri Chaudhary has worked in various positions in the Cost Engineering department, Design & Engineering department, and four Construction Projects of NHPC: Koel Karo, Kalpong, Teesta-V, and Subansiri Lower HEPs. He has also worked on two construction projects in Bhutan: Mangdechhu and Punatsangchhu-II HEPs.

"Mr. Chaudhary worked at the Kalpong HE project from its conception to commissioning, completing the project 16 months ahead of schedule. This was a remarkable achievement for NHPC, considering the project's location on a very remote island in Andaman & Nicobar."
