REC Limited Commits Rs 8.44 Crore to support power plant in Tamil Nadu
The project shall be implemented by the GRI in technical collaboration with BHEL.
New Delhi: REC Limited, a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Power and a leading NBFC, has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Gandhigram Rural Institute under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. REC has committed financial assistance of Rs 8.44 crores for establishing 1MW multi-technology ground-mounted, grid connected solar photovoltaic power plant for the benefit of students, research scholar at the Gandhigram Rural Institute (GRI), Dindigul, Tamil Nadu.
The project shall be implemented by the GRI in technical collaboration with BHEL.

The establishment of this solar photovoltaic multi technology power plant will not only make the Institute self-reliant in terms of power but will also act as hub for research on use of latest state of the art technology in terms of panels and inverters technologies in modern solar power plants.
