Shri S. R. Narasimhan takes over as CMD, POSOCO

New Delhi: Shri S. R. Narasimhan has taken over the charge of the post of Chairman & Managing Director, POSOCO w.e.f. 25th March 2022. Back in 2018 Narasimhan joined the Board of Power System Operation Corporation (POSOCO) as Director (System Operation). 

 Past Experience 

Also he was an Executive Director, National Load Despatch Centre (NLDC) responsible for reliable and economic operation of the All India electricity grid which is also connected to the neighbouring countries of Bhutan, Nepal and Bangladesh. 

After a total of 23-year stint at Northern Regional Load Despatch Centre (NRLDC), New Delhi and Western Regional Load Despatch Centre, Mumbai, Shri Narasimhan joined NLDC in July 2011.

He has over three decades’ experience in power system operation spread across CEA, POWERGRID and POSOCO after an initial stint with BHEL.

He has extensive experience in interconnection of regional grids leading to asynchronous All India electricity grid.

 Educational background 

Shri S R Narasimhan has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the erstwhile Delhi College of Engineering in 1986 and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in 1996 from IGNOU.
