BP Singh Assumes Charge as Director General of Naval Armament at Naval Headquarters

Mumbai: B. P. Singh has assumed charge as the Director General of Naval Armament (DGONA) at Indian Navy headquarters in New Delhi with effect from 1 March 2026. He succeeds Divakar Jayant, who retired from service on 28 February 2026.

An officer of the 1994 batch of the Indian Naval Armament Service (INAS), Singh brings more than three decades of extensive experience in the Naval Armament Organisation. Prior to taking over the new role, he served as Chief General Manager of the Naval Armament Depot at Alwaye and also held key responsibilities at the Naval Armament Depot in Mumbai.

Singh is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Bihar College of Engineering in Patna. He is also an alumnus of the prestigious National Defence College.

With his vast operational and administrative experience, Singh is expected to further strengthen the Naval Armament Organisation and support the Indian Navy’s strategic and technological capabilities.
