New Delhi. Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has successfully launched a major transmission project through its subsidiary, POWERGRID ER NER Transmission Limited. This project, part of the "System Strengthening Scheme for Eastern and North Eastern Regions," officially started operating on July 3, 2025.

The initiative was secured through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) and aims to improve inter-state transmission systems across eastern and northeastern India. The company received the Notification for Commercial Operation (DOCO) on July 11, 2025, confirming that the project is ready for commercial service.

The announcement was made in a regulatory filing to BSE and NSE, following Regulation 30 of SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements. Satyaprakash Dash, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer, signed the filing.

The commissioning strengthens POWERGRID’s role in modernizing the grid and improving energy access in important regions. It is expected to enhance reliability and efficiency in India's power distribution network.
