PM Modi Inaugurates Oil India’s Numaligarh–Siliguri Pipeline Capacity Project
New Delhi, 13 March 2026: Oil India Limited announced that the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, inaugurated the Numaligarh–Siliguri Product Pipeline (NSPL) Capacity Augmentation Project during a public event in Guwahati. This strategic project significantly enhances petroleum product transportation in India’s North-Eastern region, supporting the expansion of the Numaligarh Refinery.
The NSPL, a 654-km, 16-inch diameter cross-country multi-product pipeline, was originally designed for 1.72 MMTPA (Million Metric Tonnes Per Annum). Following the capacity enhancement, the pipeline now supports 5.5 MMTPA, aligning with the Government of India’s Hydrocarbon Vision 2030 for the North-East.

Upgradation of Siliguri Receipt Terminal for enhanced operational efficiency and safety

The project not only optimizes the use of existing assets but also strengthens India’s energy security by ensuring reliable and increased supply of petroleum products in the North-Eastern states.
