BCCL growth roadmap: Soon to commission 15 MTPA Block E-Project, approves cash discount proposal for Raw Coal tran

New Delhi:The Coal India’s subsidiary, Bharat Coking Coal Ltd (BCCL) has advanced its growth roadmap with authorized capacity initiatives. The 15 MTPA Block-E project is scheduled for tendering within the current financial year. With the commissioning of Block-E, it is expected to enhance the company’s overall production by nearly 15%, substantially reinforcing its coking coal portfolio and strengthening its long-term supply capabilities for the steel sector.

Consequently, the 2 MTPA Bhojudih Washery has been successfully operationalized and is expected to achieve peak capacity within the next 2–3 weeks. This addition will enhance washed coal output, improve realizations and deepen value addition across the coal value chain, reaffirming BCCL’s commitment to efficiency and sustainable growth.

In addition, the Board has approved the proposal for Cash Discount in case of Raw Coal to be booked through Rail Mode under CIL e-auction Scheme 2022 for e-auctions to be held till March 2026.

The cash discount to any single bidder in a single auction under a single cluster with All Grades of Raw Coking coal:

1-10 to 14 Rakes with Rs 100/- cash discount

2-15 to 19 Rakes with Rs 150/- cash discount

3-20 or more rakes with Rs 200/- cash discount

Further, the Board has also approved the proposal for Revision of Surface Transportation Charges (STC) applicable on sale of all coal & coal products in BCCL w.e.f. 26-09-2025.
