BHEL receives favorable notice from CESTAT Delhi, quashing original order
BHEL receives favourable revised order pronounced by CESTAT Delhi in the matter of service tax. The order of the CESTAT is in favour of the Company which has mitigated the exposure to the extent of demand involved under the Order-in Original No.24/COMMR. /DDN/2022 dated 31.03.2022.

New Delhi: Maharatna CPSE, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited receives favourable revised order pronounced by CESTAT Delhi in the matter of service tax. The order of the CESTAT is in favour of the Company which has mitigated the exposure to the extent of demand involved under the Order-in Original No.24/COMMR. /DDN/2022 dated 31.03.2022.
The order has been communicated for Period FY 2015-16, FY 2016-17 and FY 2017-18 (upto June, 2017).

The company has released a notification that states: Order No. 50617/2025 dated 08/05/2025, pronounced by CESTAT Delhi in favour of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, quashing and setting aside the Order-in-Original No.24/COMMR/DDN/2022 dated 31.03.2022, passed by the Commissioner, CGST & Service Tax Commissionerate, imposing a service tax demand of Rs 269370551/- with applicable interest and a penalty of Rs 269370551/-in the matter of service tax under Sections 73/75/78 of the Finance Act 1994.
