Maharatna CPSE, BHEL receives Letter of Acceptance from BCGCL for Syngas Purification Plant
New Delhi: In a significant boost towards the power sector, the state-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has received a Letter of Acceptance from Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals Limited (BCGCL), a joint venture company of BHEL and Coal India Limited
Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals Limited (BCGCL) is a Joint Venture Company of Coal India Limited (51%) & Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (49%).
The Company has received a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) of Bid on 10th February 2026 for Syngas Purification Plant (LSTK 2 Package) of BCGCL's Coal to 2000 TPD Ammonium Nitrate Project at Lakhanpur, Jharsuguda District, Odisha, India.
The Scope of the work includes Design, Engineering, Supply of equipment, Civil works, Erection, Commissioning and O&M Services for LSTK 2 Package.
The Time Period includes Preliminary Acceptance (Commissioning & Performance Guarantee Test) by 42 Months from date of LOA. O&M Services for 60 Months from Preliminary Acceptance.
The cost of the project is around Rs 2800 Crores excluding Custom Duty and GST.
Further, the Government-owned BHEL is one of the promoter companies of BCGCL, as well as the Executing agency for the contract of Syngas Purification Plant (LSTK 2 Package). BCGCL is the Joint Venture Company of CIL and BHEL.
