CMPDI Completes G-4 Copper and Graphite Exploration in Madhya Pradesh
Bhopal, February 2026: Central Mine Planning and Design Institute Limited (CMPDI), through its Regional Institute-VI (RI-VI) in Singrauli, has successfully completed a G-4 level exploration project for copper and graphite in the Khochipur area of Siddhi district, Madhya Pradesh.
The reconnaissance-level exploration marks a significant advancement in mineral assessment efforts in the region and contributes to India’s broader strategy of strengthening domestic mineral resource identification.
Geological Report Submitted to NMEDT
The outcomes of the survey work have been formally submitted to the National Mineral Exploration and Development Trust (NMEDT) in the form of a detailed Geological Report (GR).
The G-4 exploration level corresponds to reconnaissance surveys aimed at identifying mineral prospects and establishing preliminary geological potential for further detailed exploration.
Strengthening India’s Mineral Exploration Efforts
The successful completion of the project underscores CMPDI’s proactive role in supporting India’s mineral exploration initiatives. By identifying potential copper and graphite resources, the project contributes to the country’s long-term objectives of:
-
Enhancing domestic mineral resource availability
-
Supporting critical mineral supply chains
-
Promoting sustainable and systematic resource development
Copper and graphite are strategically important minerals, widely used in electrical systems, renewable energy technologies, battery manufacturing, and various industrial applications.
The milestone further reinforces CMPDI’s contribution toward scientific mineral exploration and sustainable resource development in India.
