Coal India Inter-Company Powerlifting, Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Championship 2025-26 held at WCL
Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) Team Emerges Champion; SECL Team Secures Runner-up Position

New Delhi: The Coal India Inter-Company Powerlifting, Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Championship 2025-26 was successfully organized at the Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) Headquarters from October 14 to 16, 2025. In the tournament, Team WCL emerged as the overall champion, while Team SECL secured the runner-up position.
In individual titles, Shri Srinivas Reddy from SCCL was declared Mr. Coal India. Shri Mohitram Andhavan from WCL won the title of Strong Man of Coal India, Ms. Hiramani Mandal from WCL was declared Strong Woman of Coal India, and Shri Rabindra Behera from MCL won the Best Lifter of Coal India award.

On the concluding day, the Prize Distribution Ceremony was held in the presence of Shri J. P. Dwivedi, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, WCL, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The ceremony was also attended by Shri Bikram Ghosh, Director (Finance); Dr. Hemant Sharad Pande, Director (Human Resources); and Shri Ajay Madhukar Mhetre, Chief Vigilance Officer, WCL, as Guest of Honor.

Dwivedi emphasized the importance of sports like powerlifting and weightlifting for maintaining both physical and mental strength. He stated that such tournaments promote awareness and interest in these sports and provide talented players with opportunities to excel. He congratulated the winners for their achievements and encouraged other participants to strive for better performance in the future.
Dr. Hemant Sharad Pande, Director (HR), delivered the welcome address and extended congratulations to all the winners. Shri C. J. Joseph, member of the WCL steering committee, also conveyed his best wishes to the winners. The dignitaries presented medals and certificates to all the winners.
The event was attended by members of the WCL steering committee Shri C. J. Joseph and Shri S. R. Gabale, as well as members of the WCL Welfare Committee. A large number of WCL employees witnessed the competition, making it a memorable and inspiring event.
