Coal workers demand increase in pension amount

Federation of Coal Industry Retired Employees Association (FCIREA) Annual General Meeting was held on 22 June 25 at Lambent IT Park, Harihar Nagar, Besa Nagpur under the chairmanship of Shri C K V N Rao.

Retired workers from Coal India and Singareni Collieries Company attended this general meeting in large numbers. All the members present paid their respects to the founder of the Federation, late J N Singh, by garlanding his photograph.

The retired coal workers of the country, who spent their lives in coal production for the energy needs of the country by risking their lives in difficult circumstances, are in trouble today, because despite legal provisions, there has been no increase in the pension received at the time of retirement. After repeatedly drawing the attention of the government in this regard, when no result was achieved, the Federation (FCIREA) filed a petition in the High Court in 2013. That case has not been decided till date, only dates are given.
