New Delhi, March 19, 2026: The New Gulaothi Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal (GCT) on the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC) was officially inaugurated by Sh. Praveen Kumar, MD/DFCCIL, in the presence of senior officials including Sh. Shobhit Bhatnagar, Sh. Pawan Rai, Sh. S. P. Verma, Sh. Alok Kumar, and Sh. Ashish Kumar.

Spread over 12.64 acres, the terminal is developed by M/s Sushila Venkateshwara Integrated Logistics LLP under Schedule-II of the GCT Policy and features a 750-meter goods handling line along with spacious platforms for efficient loading and unloading of bulk and containerized cargo.

The terminal is projected to handle approximately 40 rakes per month (~2 million tons per year), facilitating both inbound and outbound freight:

  • Outbound: Assam, Punjab, Maharashtra – textiles, agricultural products, electrical goods

  • Inbound: Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu – steel and automobile components

The commissioning of the GCT marks a major milestone in strengthening India’s rail-based logistics, promoting multimodal connectivity, and improving the efficiency of cargo movement on the #DedicatedFreightCorridor network.

Sh. Praveen Kumar emphasized that this terminal will enhance industrial growth and supply chain efficiency, supporting the government’s vision of a modern, high-capacity freight infrastructure.
