New Delhi:The Largest Coal Producing PSU, Coal India’s subsidiary Eastern Coalfields Ltd (ECL) has requested its employees to enhance production in the final quarter of the current financial year in order to fill the gap between targets and achievements which was fall a short in cumulative output in December quarter.

The message was reported in the 77th Republic Day, where ECL CMD Satish Jha has stated that cumulative coal production until December 2025 is standing at 33.48 million tonnes which is marginally below the proportionate target of 38.75 million tonnes, which advances the need to accelerate the production in the remaining months of the financial year 2025-26.

However, the company has remained on a strong operational footprint, backed by the robust removal of over burden of 133.013 million cubic metres during the period, reflecting the strong coal output growth. The cumulative coal offtake for the period of April-December period is standing at 33.66 million tonnes which ensures continuous supply and revenue flow.

The concerned efforts is urged from the respective employees, officers, and executives where the company is anticipating the collective commitment and sustainable handling of work would be critical in meeting annual targets and strengthening the ECL’s role in fostering the nation’s energy security.
