New Delhi, 2 February 2026 – Engineers India Limited (EIL) is set for a top-level leadership change as Chairperson & Managing Director (CMD) Ms. Vartika Shukla retires on February 28, 2026, concluding her impactful five-year tenure.
Shukla, who took charge on September 1, 2021, has steered EIL through significant growth, strengthening its presence in energy, infrastructure, and international projects. Her leadership has been credited with enhancing operational efficiency and strategic expansion.
The Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Mr. Atul Gupta, currently Director (Commercial) at EIL, as her successor. The appointment is subject to approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). Gupta is expected to continue EIL’s focus on growth and innovation across domestic and international projects.
With the end of February marking the transition, stakeholders and industry watchers are closely monitoring how Gupta will shape the company’s next chapter.
