PNGRB authorizes capacity expansion of JLPL network from 3.25 MMTPA to 6.5 MMTPA
State-owned GAIL (India) Ltd has received PNGRB approval to double the capacity of its Jamnagar-Loni LPG pipeline from 3.25 MMTPA to 6.5 MMTPA. The expansion will support future LPG demand growth and boost GAIL’s business

State-owned GAIL (India) Ltd has secured an authorization from PNGRB for capacity expansion of Jamnagar-Loni Petroleum Product (LPG) Pipeline (JLPL) from 3.25 MMTPA to 6.5 MMTPA.

GAIL currently operates the longest LPG pipeline of India with a capacity of 3.25 MMTPA. The pipeline is currently operating at 100% capacity. Therefore, in terms of impact of this approval is that in last decade the cumulative growth of LPG was around 6%.
Similar type of growth is expected to be continued in the future, leading to higher pipeline capacity utilization. Therefore, expansion of the pipeline will result into business growth of the Company.
The time period to complete the project is as per authorization project is to completed within three years from date of grant of Authorization.
