GIC Re Extends CMD Powers of Hitesh Ramesh Chandra Joshi Till New Appointment
New Delhi: General Insurance Corporation of India GIC Re has announced the extension of financial and administrative powers of Shri Hitesh Ramesh Chandra Joshi Executive Director. The decision has been approved by the Government of India Ministry of Finance Department of Financial Services.
According to the official disclosure dated 7 January 2026 the extension will be effective from 1 January 2026 for a further period of three months or until a regular Chairman and Managing Director is appointed or until further orders whichever is earlier.
Earlier these powers were entrusted to Shri Hitesh Ramesh Chandra Joshi from 1 October 2025 for an initial period of three months. The latest approval ensures continuity in leadership and operational stability at GIC Re.
