HPCL Renewable & Green Energy Ltd. (HPRGE), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL), has announced the successful financial closure of a Rs 828 crore Rupee Term Loan-1 from India Exim Bank. This milestone marks a significant boost to HPCL’s expanding green energy portfolio.
The secured funding will support the development of 11 solar power projects and 3 compressed biogas (CBG) plants strategically located across the country. The loan was arranged at a competitive interest rate, reflecting the financial strength and credibility of the project.

This move forms the first phase of HPRGE’s broader strategy to raise up to Rs 3,500 crore to advance its renewable energy and sustainability initiatives. The loan will accelerate HPCL’s transition towards cleaner energy sources, reinforcing its commitment to the Government of India’s renewable energy goals.
The company extended its gratitude to its key financial partners — India Exim Bank, SBI Capital Markets (SBI CAPS), SBICAP Trustee Company Ltd., and ICICI Bank Ltd. — for their unwavering support and confidence in the company’s green energy mission.
