Landmark Day at HURL Gorakhpur: Open Gym Inauguration and EIMWB Commissioned Under PM Gati Shakti
New Delhi: A landmark day of progress and purpose at the Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited, Gorakhpur Plant.
Today marked the successful inauguration of two significant initiatives, the Open Gym & Sports Ground, reinforcing our commitment to employee well-being, and the Electronic In-Motion Weighbridge (EIMWB) commissioned under the PM Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal framework, strengthening our rail logistics infrastructure.
The ceremonies were graciously led by our Hon’ble Managing Director, Dr. Siba Prasad Mohanty, in the presence of Plant Head, along with senior officials from Indian Railways and HURL.
The Open Gym and Sports Ground symbolize HURL’s belief that a healthy workforce builds a stronger organization fostering fitness, team spirit, and a vibrant workplace culture.
The commissioning of the EIMWB marks a decisive step toward modernization, enhancing transparency, compliance, and operational efficiency in wagon-wise weighment and rake movement, further aligning HURL with the vision of seamless multi-modal logistics.
During his visit, the Managing Director conducted a comprehensive review of major process units, utilities, and infrastructure, assessing plant performance, production targets, energy efficiency, safety compliance, and maintenance practices. He emphasized proactive maintenance, teamwork, innovation, and data-driven decisions, encouraging stronger inter-departmental coordination for sustained growth. The visit concluded with a focused review meeting outlining actionable strategies to further enhance operational excellence.
The day reflected HURL’s balanced vision, strengthening both people and processes for long-term, sustainable growth.
