LIC Announces Appointment of Ms. Shalini Pandit as Government Nominee Director
LIC informs stock exchanges that the Central Government has appointed IAS officer Ms. Shalini Pandit as Government Nominee Director, replacing Dr. Parshant Kumar Goyal, with effect from December 03, 2025.

New Delhi: Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has announced the appointment of Ms. Shalini Pandit, IAS, as the new Government Nominee Director on its Board. The corporation informed the BSE and NSE on December 5, 2025, that the Central Government, through a notification dated December 3, 2025, has nominated Ms. Pandit in place of Dr. Parshant Kumar Goyal. The change has been made under Section 4(2)(d) of the Life Insurance Corporation Act, 1956.
Ms. Pandit, an IAS officer from the Odisha cadre, currently serves as Joint Secretary in the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance. Her appointment takes effect immediately and will continue until further orders or until her superannuation, whichever occurs earlier. The notification was formally received by LIC on December 5, 2025, at 13:39 hours.
LIC confirmed that following this appointment, Dr. Parshant Kumar Goyal has ceased to be the Government Nominee Director effective December 3, 2025. The corporation has also uploaded the communication and relevant details on its official website for public access.

In the detailed disclosure submitted to the exchanges, LIC highlighted Ms. Pandit’s extensive administrative experience. Prior to her central government role, she served in several senior positions in the Odisha government, including Secretary of School & Mass Education, Health & Family Welfare, Mission Shakti, and Odia Language, Literature & Culture departments. She has also served as Mission Director of the National Health Mission and as Labour Commissioner. Her leadership during the Covid-19 pandemic and her contributions to education reforms have been widely acknowledged.
Ms. Pandit holds a degree in Botany from Miranda House, University of Delhi, and an M.Sc. in Wildlife Science from the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun. LIC further clarified that she is not related to any other member of the Board.
This change forms part of the corporation’s regulatory disclosure obligations under Regulation 30 of SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements (LODR) Regulations, 2015.
