NTPC Western Region-I Headquarters (WR-I HQs) celebrated National Sports Day with great zeal at its Powai Township, highlighting the importance of fitness, wellness, and collective participation.

Mumbai, 29th August 2025 — NTPC Western Region-I Headquarters (WR-I HQs) celebrated National Sports Day with great zeal at its Powai Township, highlighting the importance of fitness, wellness, and collective participation.
The celebration at NTPC WR-I HQs commenced with an energetic walkathon, in which employees and their family members participated with enthusiasm. Following the walkathon, Shri Santosh Kumar Takhele, RED (West-I) & CEO (RGPPL), administered the Fit India Pledge, encouraging everyone to adopt a healthy lifestyle and make fitness an integral part of their daily routine.
The event was graced by Smt. Vandana Chaturvedi, Regional Head of HR (West-I), along with senior officials from NTPC WR-I HQs, NGEL, and Nuclear Cell, making the occasion truly memorable. Their presence and active participation reflected NTPC’s commitment to employee well-being and the promotion of a healthy work-life balance.
The National Sports Day celebration at Powai Township reaffirmed NTPC WR-I HQs’ dedication to nurturing a culture of fitness, camaraderie, and collective responsibility towards health — both at the workplace and beyond — in line with the national vision of using sports as a medium to promote peaceful and progressive societies.
