Ayush Budget Allocation Rises to ₹4,408 Crore, Says Minister Prataprao Jadhav at Post-Budget Webinar
New Delhi: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush, Prataprao Jadhav highlighted the Government’s commitment to strengthening integrated healthcare systems during the post-budget webinar on Health, Ayush, and Pharma.
Speaking at the event, Jadhav said the allocation for the Ministry of Ayush has increased significantly from ₹1,069 crore in 2014–15 to ₹4,408 crore, reflecting the growing role of traditional healthcare systems in India’s overall health framework. He credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for prioritising the integration of Ayush systems into the national healthcare ecosystem.
The minister outlined several initiatives aimed at strengthening the Ayush sector. These include the establishment of new campuses of the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), strengthening Ayush pharmacies and drug-testing laboratories, and expanding services through the National Ayush Mission and Ayushman Arogya Mandir network.
He also highlighted plans for developing regional medical hubs, promoting medical value travel, and training around 1.5 lakh caregivers to support the growing demand for Ayush-based healthcare services. According to the minister, these initiatives will help strengthen the Ayush ecosystem while also supporting farmers, MSMEs, and research in traditional medicine.
Jadhav further noted that these measures would reinforce the ecosystem around the WHO Global Traditional Medicine Centre in Jamnagar, which is emerging as a global hub for traditional medicine research and collaboration.
Reaffirming the Government’s focus on implementation, the minister said that stakeholder consultations and expert inputs from the webinar would help identify bottlenecks and guide future policy actions. He added that these efforts align with the vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas and will contribute to building a stronger and inclusive healthcare system for a Viksit Bharat.
