NCLT Approves NTPC–MAHAGENCO Plan for Sinnar Thermal Power

NTPC Limited has announced that the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) in Delhi has approved the Resolution Plan submitted by NTPC and Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MAHAGENCO) for Sinnar Thermal Power Limited (STPL).

This company is currently undergoing the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016.

The approval came on 28 November 2025. The approved plan will be implemented according to the terms outlined in the Resolution Plan and the NCLT order, following all applicable laws.

STPL runs a 5×270 MW (1350 MW) coal-based thermal power plant located in Sinnar, Nashik, Maharashtra.
