NTPC Limited has received approval from the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Delhi, for the Resolution Plan jointly submitted with Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MAHAGENCO) for Sinnar Thermal Power Limited (STPL).

STPL has been undergoing the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016. The tribunal cleared the plan on 28 November 2025, allowing NTPC and MAHAGENCO to move ahead with the next steps.

The plan will now be implemented as per the conditions mentioned in the NCLT order and in line with all legal requirements.

STPL operates a coal-based thermal power plant of 5×270 MW (1350 MW) in Sinnar, Nashik, Maharashtra. The approval marks an important step toward reviving the project and strengthening the region’s power infrastructure.
