New Delhi: Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC) participated in the project handover and result report meeting of India’s first Micro Substation equipped with a Power Voltage Transformer (PVT), marking a significant milestone in innovative power distribution technology.

The event was attended by Smt. Parminder Chopra, Chairman and Managing Director of PFC, who highlighted the importance of advanced technologies in strengthening India’s power infrastructure.

Indo-Japan Collaboration in Power Technology

The project was jointly supported by New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organisation (NEDO), Japan, and Power Finance Corporation Limited, reflecting growing India–Japan cooperation in the energy sector.

The micro substation was executed by Nissin Electric Co., Ltd. in partnership with Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL).

Key Officials Attend Project Event

The project handover event witnessed participation from several senior officials and stakeholders, including:

  • Yokoshima, President of NEDO, Japan

  • Kenji Kobayashi, representing Nissin Electric

  • Dwijadas Basak, CEO of TPDDL

Officials from the Embassy of Japan in India were also present, underscoring the strong international collaboration behind the initiative.

The deployment of a Micro Substation with Power Voltage Transformer technology represents an important step toward improving power distribution efficiency, reliability, and compact infrastructure solutions for urban electricity networks.

The project demonstrates how international partnerships and advanced technologies can support the modernization of India’s power distribution systems.
