NHPC Seeks Chhattisgarh’s Support for Pumped Storage Project Development
NHPC CMD Sh. R.K. Chaudhary held discussions with senior Chhattisgarh officials on developing Pumped Storage Projects. The state government responded positively to NHPC’s request for project allocation.

Sh. R.K. Chaudhary, Chairman and Managing Director of NHPC, along with the Executive Director (SBD&C), recently held a series of high-level meetings in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The discussions involved senior government officials, including the Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary in the Chief Minister's Office, Secretary of the Water Resources Department, and Secretary of Energy, to explore the development of Pumped Storage Projects (PSPs) in the state.

During the meetings, the NHPC CMD highlighted the company’s expertise in the hydropower sector and provided updates on ongoing studies being conducted by NHPC on self-identified PSP sites in Chhattisgarh. He also urged the state government to allocate some of these sites to NHPC for further development.
The response from government officials was highly encouraging, signaling a positive outlook toward the allotment of Pumped Storage Projects to NHPC.
