NHPC's Kishanganga Power Station Achieves Record 1,550 Million Units Generation in FY26

Srinagar, June 8, 2026: NHPC Limited announced that its Kishanganga Power Station achieved its highest-ever annual power generation of 1,550.37 million units (MU) during FY 2025-26, setting a new operational milestone since the project's commissioning in 2018.

The achievement was highlighted during the visit of Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director (Projects), to the Kishanganga Power Station on June 7, 2026.

During the visit, he reviewed operational activities at the hydropower station and interacted with officers and employees. He appreciated the workforce for maintaining reliable operations and achieving strong performance despite challenging conditions.

The NHPC director also inspected the dam and the Dam-toe-Power House facilities at Gurez, where he reviewed ongoing works and assessed project-related activities.

Congratulating the station's team, Singh noted that the record generation of 1,550.37 million units reflects the operational efficiency and commitment of employees managing the strategically important hydropower project.

Commissioned in 2018, the Kishanganga Power Station is one of NHPC's key hydroelectric assets in Jammu & Kashmir and contributes significantly to renewable energy generation in the region.
