NLC India Limited took part in Grama Sabha meeting at Iruppu Panchayat, Panruti
New Delhi: NLC India Limited (NLCIL) took part in a Grama Sabha meeting at Iruppu Panchayat, Panruti, on 01.11.2025 as part of its ongoing outreach programs during the Vigilance Awareness Campaign. The Grama Sabha, attended by over 100 residents of the village that largely comprised of women, was spearheaded by Ms. Citrakala, General Manager (Vigilance) and other senior officers from the Vigilance Department, NLCIL.
The core objective of the Grama Sabha meeting was to improve the awareness level of the residents on the devastating impact of corruption, bribery & maladministration on them and emphasize the need for raising their voices with appropriate authorities and prefer a complaint whenever they encounter any such misdeeds.

A key focus of the drive was to create awareness on the growing menace of "cash-for-job" scams. Reiterating NLCIL's commitment to meritocracy, officials clarified that all recruitment occurs exclusively through public advertisements and merit-based selection. They strongly advised citizens and called upon them to immediately report any incidents of fraudulent or deceptive job offers and cases of theft of NLCIL resources such as sand directly to vigilance Department. The residents expressed concerns on the rising risks of cybercrimes and wanted to know how to safeguard themselves from such miscreants. The residents were then familiarized on the “Kaaval Uthavi” mobile application as a tool for public security and assistance.
Printed cards containing contact details of key departments were distributed among the residents. This measure was aimed to enable residents to raise concerns and provide feedback directly to the relevant authorities.
To promote ownership of the anti-corruption message, a Rangoli competition was organized around the theme “Let us Eradicate Corruption”. The competition saw enthusiastic participation from 11 community members, demonstrating their strong desire to cooperate with the anti-corruption measures.
A particularly moving moment took place when a visually impaired participant expressed heartfelt gratitude to NLCIL Vigilance for organizing such awareness campaign, underscoring the inclusive nature and social impact of the initiative.

The event concluded with prize distribution to the winners of Rangoli competition, while all participants received small tokens of appreciation as encouragement, followed by a formal vote of thanks by the Iruppu Panchayat Secretary.
The initiative underscores NLCIL’s commitment to social responsibility by actively engaging and empowering the general public in the fight against corruption & bribery
