NTPC Tender: NLC India and three others wins 1,200 MW Hybrid-03 Auction for Wind-Solar Projects

NTPC Ltd shares recent auction results for 1200 MW ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power project on the competitive renewable energy market. Many big developers took part, making bids for several capacities to highlight the rising need in hybrid renewable energy solutions. With 450 MW at a stated pricing of Rs 3.35/kWh, NLC India got the largest allotment among the bidders.

With 300 MW at the same rate, EG Solwin Renewables (Infinity Global) followed; Welspun Renewable Energy acquired 250 MW, also at Rs 3.35/kWh. Adani Renewable Energy Holding Twelve secured 200 MW, somewhat higher than the winning bid at a rate of Rs 3.36/kWh.

With 1,200 MW of total granted capacity in this auction, renewable energy companies clearly show great interest and fierce competitiveness. The stable pricing trend shown by the tight bidding prices in the wind-solar hybrid sector helps to strengthen the financial feasibility of these projects.

The data also show the strategic aspirations of big developers in broadening their hybrid energy portfolios. Adani Renewable Energy Holding Twelve's somewhat higher tariff indicates that competition is still fierce where even minor pricing changes might affect bid results.
