NLCIL Celebrated 58th Engineers Day

Every year, on Engineers’ Day, the Institution of Engineers’ (India) celebrates the efforts of Engineers who have made remarkable contributions to the nation.

NLCIL Celebrated 58th Engineers Day

‘Engineers Day’ was celebrated by the Institution of Engineers’ (India), Neyveli local centre on 27th September, 2025. Shri Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, CMD, NLCIL was the Chief Guest while Er S M Ramanathan M.Tech., Director, Engineering, Research & Development, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, New Delhi was the Guest of Honour. Every year, on Engineers’ Day, the Institution of Engineers’ (India) celebrates the efforts of Engineers who have made remarkable contributions to the nation.

Er. M. Venkatachalam, Director (Power), NLCIL & Chairman, Institute of Engineers India, Neyveli Centre, Dr. Suresh Chandra Suman Director, Mines & Director P&P Additional charge, Shri. Samir Swarup, Director, Human Resources, Dr Prasanna Kumar Acharya Director (Finance), NLCIL, Shri Vasant Ashok Patil Independent Director, NLCIL and Thiru Appakannu Govindarajan, IPoS, Chief Vigilance Officer, NLCIL, were present. 

Students from Annamalai University, Chidambaram, CK Engineering college & Krishnasamy Engineering college, Cuddalore, MRK Engineering College, Kattumannar koil, University college of Engineering Panruti, Kamaraj College of Engineering, Virudhunagar and NPTI, Neyveli and officials of NLCIL also participated in the event.

The Honourable Chief guest Er Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, CMD,NLCIL, in his Presidential speech, recalled the efforts, discipline and integrity of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, whose legacy continues to inspire technocrats and in whose memory the Engineers’ Day is commemorated.

Er S M Ramanathan, the Guest of Honour spoke on the Engineer’s Day theme ‘Deep Tech & Engineering Excellence: Driving India’s Techade’, with insights from latest developments and advanced technologies in BHEL.

Er M Venkatachalam Chairman IEI, Neyveli Local Centre and Director Power / NLCIL delivered the formal keynote address.

As part of the event, Elocution competitions on this year’s theme in Tamil and English were conducted for students. Quiz competitions on the latest developments in the engineering field were also conducted for practicing Engineers.

Earlier, Er. A Eraniyan Hon. Secretary IEI, Neyveli Local Centre welcomed the gathering while Er. M. Anbalagan, Joint Honorary Secretary proposed the Vote of Thanks.
