NEW DELHI:  NTPC Limited, India’s largest power conglomerate, has successfully declared the Commercial Operation Date (COD) for the second and final part capacity of its Solapur Solar PV Project in Maharashtra.

The final 13 MW segment of the 23 MW project will officially commence commercial operations at 00:00 Hrs on December 25, 2025. This milestone marks the full commissioning of the Solapur solar facility, further advancing the company’s transition toward a greener energy portfolio.

 

Operational Impact

With the integration of this final 13 MW capacity, NTPC has reached significant new milestones in its power generation journey:

  • Standalone Capacity: The total installed and commercial capacity of NTPC now stands at 60,796 MW.

  • Group Capacity: On a group basis, the total capacity has increased to 85,623 MW.

This achievement is a direct contribution to NTPC’s long-term sustainability goals.
