NTPC got the First Female Coal Miner

New Delhi: Whenever we see a mining engineer, an image of a young man suddenly strikes our mind, but then there are many women who are breaking these gender stereotypes, by standing strong in mines and taking command for best production.

NTPC as a gender-inclusive organisation is steadily working towards hiring women engineers and giving wings to their unlimited potential.

NTPC has recently hired its first female mining, Ms Sakshi Kumari, a Btech Graduate from the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela with specialization in Mining Engineering.

Passionate about the operations part in mining, Sakshi shares a vision for inclusion and diversity for women in this field. And surprisingly, she joined the NTPC Dulanga Coal Mining Project on 15th June which is marked as International Day for Women in Mining.
