NTPC Green Energy has successfully commissioned a 100 MW solar power project, increasing the NTPC Group’s total capacity to 83026 MW. The project is part of a 500 MW plant developed by IRCON Renewable Power.

NEW DELHI: The NTPC Group has announced a significant boost to its power generation capabilities with the successful commissioning of a 100 MW solar power project. The new plant, which began commercial operation on September 17, 2025, has increased the group's total installed capacity to 83,026 MW.

The newly operational 100 MW solar capacity is a segment of a larger 500 MW plant developed by IRCON Renewable Power Limited (IRPL). The project is a joint venture that includes a stake held by a group company of NTPC Green Energy.

With this addition, the NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) Group's total commercial capacity now stands at 7,372.575 MW, marking a notable increase in its renewable energy portfolio. This expansion underscores NTPC's ongoing commitment to strengthening India's clean energy infrastructure.
