NTPC SAIL JV Commissions Additional 5 MW Solar Power at Maroda
New Delhi, February 16, 2026: NTPC Limited has announced the declaration of Commercial Operation Date (COD) for an additional 5 MW solar capacity at the Maroda Reservoir-I Solar Power Project in Bhilai.
The project is being developed by NTPC-SAIL Power Company Limited (NSPCL), a joint venture between NTPC Limited and the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).
According to the company’s regulatory filing dated February 16, 2026, the additional 5 MW capacity (out of the total 15 MW project capacity) was declared commercially operational during January 2026.
Following this development, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Group has increased to 87,809 MW, while its total commercial capacity now stands at 86,729 MW.
The Maroda Reservoir-I Solar Power Project forms part of NTPC Group’s broader renewable energy expansion strategy, aimed at strengthening its clean energy portfolio and supporting India’s transition toward sustainable power generation.
The company disclosed the update under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
