New Delhi June 2026: In a significant development for India’s power generation sector, NTPC Limited and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited have signed the Supplementary Joint Venture Agreement (SJVA)-III to enhance the capacity of the Meja power project operated under their joint venture company, Meja Urja Nigam Private Limited.

The agreement was signed on 4 June 2026 in Lucknow, marking a major step toward upgrading Meja Stage-II capacity from 2×660 MW to 3×800 MW, strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s long-term electricity generation infrastructure.
