As part of the ongoing Numaligarh Refinery Expansion Project (NREP), it has achieved a significant engineering milestone with the successful installation of the over-dimensional Vacuum Tower at the Residue Upgradation Process Technology Unit (RPTU). The Vacuum Tower, a critical component of the RPTU, weighs an impressive 375 metric tonnes, spans 57 meters in length, and has a maximum diameter of 8.5 meters. The tower was expertly installed atop a 32-meter-high structure, marking a complex and high-precision engineering feat.

This challenging operation was executed using a 1600 MT ead crawler crane assisted by a 600 MT Trail crane. NRL extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas the Government of Assam and particularly the Ministry of Shipping, whose steadfast support was instrumental in facilitating the safe and efficient transportation of this over-dimensional consignment.

This achievement not only highlights the technological and logistical capabilities of the project team but also brings NRL one step closer to realizing its vision under the ambitious expansion initiative.
