Price of Rail Neer reduced by IRCTC, passing GST benefits to customers
The PSU company becomes the latest company to pass GST reforms on to customers. The new GST regime has introduced a two-slab system, 5% and 18%, with a 40% rate on luxury and sin goods.

New Delhi, September 22, 2025: State-owned Navratna PSU, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), has announced a price reduction of its packaged drinking water brand, Rail Neer, in line with the benefits of GST 2.0 reforms presented to customers.
With the government’s action of slashing Goods and Services Tax (GST) on packaged drinking water from 18% to 5%, the Railway Ministry has approved a revision in the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) of Rail Neer bottles. The price of a 500 ml bottle will now be priced at Rs 9, down from Rs 10, while the 1-liter bottle will now cost Rs 14 in place of Rs 15.

Shares of IRCTC are trading down by 0.49% at Rs 733.00 at BSE.
