RailTel secures Bihar orders worth over ₹217 crore for education, cybersecurity projects
New Delhi, Mar 19: RailTel Corporation of India Ltd on Thursday said it has secured two orders from Bihar-based government entities with a combined value of over ₹217 crore, according to regulatory filings.
The company disclosed the developments under Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
Education project valued at ₹168.75 crore
RailTel has received a work order from the Bihar Education Project Council for an education-focused initiative.
The project involves engagement as an implementation partner for education quality enhancement across selected government schools in Bihar under the PM SHRI scheme. The scope includes deployment of digital infrastructure and services aimed at improving learning outcomes.
The order value stands at approximately ₹168.75 crore (including taxes). The project is scheduled to be executed by September 30, 2026, and the work order was received on March 18, 2026.

Cybersecurity project worth ₹48.38 crore
In a separate filing, RailTel said it has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from North Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd.
The contract, valued at approximately ₹48.38 crore (including taxes), involves the establishment of a Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC) for NBPDCL and South Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd. It also includes maintenance of IT and operational technology systems for a period of five years.
The project is to be completed by January 17, 2027, with the LoA received on March 18, 2026.
Boost to order book
The latest order wins are expected to strengthen RailTel’s order book and improve revenue visibility over the next one to two years. The company has been expanding beyond its core telecom infrastructure business into digital services such as education technology and cybersecurity solutions for government and public sector clients.
