REC CMD Highlights Key Milestone in India Energy Stack Initiative Workshop
New Delhi: The Chairman and Managing Director of REC Limited, Shri Jitendra Srivastava, delivered the opening remarks at a high-level workshop on the India Energy Stack (IES), underscoring the importance of coordinated stakeholder engagement as the initiative moves closer to rollout.
The workshop brought together members of the Task Force and Expert Working Group to review progress and align on the framework for the national digital energy infrastructure initiative.
Focus on Operational Readiness and DISCOM Inputs
Shri Srivastava highlighted the successful completion of the Workshop on Operational Readiness and DISCOM Inputs held on April 23, 2026. He noted that key insights and field-level learnings from Distribution Companies (DISCOMs) are critical in shaping a scalable and practical architecture for the India Energy Stack.
He emphasized that DISCOM participation remains central to ensuring the system reflects ground realities and operational requirements across the power distribution ecosystem.
India Energy Stack as a Digital Transformation Initiative
The India Energy Stack initiative aims to build a unified digital foundation for the country’s power sector, enabling seamless data exchange, improved efficiency, and enhanced reliability across generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
According to REC leadership, the initiative represents a significant step toward a future-ready, technology-driven energy ecosystem.

Shri Srivastava described the workshop as a pivotal milestone in the development of IES, reinforcing its role in enabling long-term digital transformation across India’s energy value chain.
