Shri Ramesh Chandra Mohapatra, Director (Technical – Project & Planning) of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), conducted an on-site review of operations at the Jagannathpur Opencast Coal Mine under Bhatgaon Area. The visit focused on assessing operational performance, safety standards, and system preparedness at the mine.
During the inspection, the Director reviewed coal and overburden (OB) patches and evaluated pumping operations, with special emphasis on monsoon preparedness and system reliability. Senior officials, including the Area General Manager, GM (Mining) attached to DT (P&P), GM (Operations), and departmental heads, accompanied him during the review.
Shri Mohapatra also visited the contractor camp of M/s Chennai Radha Engineering Works (P) Ltd, where he interacted with workers and examined safety practices, training arrangements, and welfare facilities provided at the site.
In addition, the Director reviewed key functional areas such as production and dispatch, analysing performance indicators and workflow integration to ensure improved efficiency and adherence to safety norms.
