NEW DELHI | December 26, 2025 — In a major leadership transition at the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Shri Priya Ranjan has officially assumed the role of Director-in-Charge of the Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL). The appointment, effective from December 24, 2025, follows a nomination by the Government of India and subsequent approval by the SAIL Board of Directors.
A Veteran Steelmaker’s Journey
Shri Priya Ranjan is a distinguished veteran in the Indian steel industry with a career spanning over three decades within SAIL. Before this elevation, he served as the Executive Director (Works) at the Bokaro Steel Plant, where he played a pivotal role in maintaining operational excellence.

Educational Background: He holds a B.E. in Metallurgy from the prestigious BIT Sindri and further strengthened his leadership skills with a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Finance) from IMT Ghaziabad.

Career Start: He began his professional journey in the non-ferrous metals sector before joining SAIL in 1994 as a Junior Manager at the Steel Melting Shop of IISCO, Burnpur.
