Vinay Kumar Agrawal Gets Extension for Deputation at RVNL
New Delhi: The Ministry of Railways has officially extended the term of Shri Vinay Kumar Agrawal (IRSE, DOB: 16/01/1966), who is currently serving at Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) as Chief Project Manager (CPM) for the Ganga Bridge project.
The extension, communicated via Railway Board Letter No. 2018/E(O)II/7/75 dated 18/07/2025, allows Shri Agrawal to continue on deputation until January 31, 2026. This date marks his retirement or until further orders, whichever comes first. He was previously assigned to the North Central Railway, where he served as Deputy Chief Engineer (Dy CE).
This extension adds about 7 months to the standard 5-year deputation period. However, it is clearly stated that the officer will not receive a deputation allowance beyond five years.
The Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways approved the extension. The decision was shared with several senior officials, including the Principal Director of Audit, the Chairman and Managing Director of RVNL, and other Railway Board officers.
The order also notes that if the officer does not return to the parent Railway within one month of the end of his deputation, he will be considered to have resigned from Railway service. The deputation terms include allowances, joining time, medical facilities, and leave benefits according to standard Railway rules.
