IHMCL & NFSU Partner to Boost Cyber Security on National Highways

New Delhi, February 2, 2026: In a major step towards strengthening digital security and technological resilience on India’s National Highways, Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL)—a company promoted by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI)—has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU).

The MoU was signed at NHAI Headquarters, New Delhi, in the presence of Shri Santosh Kumar Yadav, Chairman, NHAI, Shri Vishal Chauhan, Chairman & Managing Director, IHMCL, along with senior officials from NHAI, IHMCL, and NFSU.

Under this strategic collaboration, NFSU will assist IHMCL in establishing state-of-the-art forensic laboratories, including facilities for CCTV, multimedia, audio-video, digital, and cyber forensics. The partnership also includes specialised training programmes to enhance technical capabilities in cyber security and digital forensics.

The initiative aims to secure critical National Highway technology platforms such as Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF), Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS), Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR), Toll Management Systems (TMS), and Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) systems. Key focus areas include secure camera-based imaging, encrypted data storage and archival, robust cyber security audits, and legally defensible evidence integrity.

By leveraging advanced scientific techniques for improved imaging accuracy and Security Operations Centre (SOC)-based monitoring, the collaboration reinforces NHAI’s commitment to safe, transparent, and technology-driven National Highway operations, ensuring enhanced public trust and system reliability.
