New Delhi Feb 22, 2026:Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) , a premier Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, has announced a massive recruitment drive for Graduate Apprentice Trainees (Engineering) for the year 2026-27.

This is an excellent opportunity for recent engineering graduates to gain one year of prestigious training at one of India's largest oil and gas companies, with locations spread across the country.

Eligibility Criteria

Before applying, please ensure you meet the following requirements:

 

Educational Qualification

  • Full-Time Engineering Graduation in the relevant stream (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation).

  • Passing Year: Must have completed the degree on or after 1st April 2023.

  • Minimum Marks:

    • UR / OBC-NC: 60% aggregate marks (all semesters/years combined).

    • SC/ST/PwBD: 50% aggregate marks (all semesters/years combined).

  • The degree must be recognized by AICTE/UGC.

 

Age Limit (as on 02-03-2026)

  • Minimum: 18 years

  • Maximum: 25 years

  • Age Relaxation:

    • SC/ST: 5 years

    • OBC-NC: 3 years

    • PwBD: 10 years

 

Important Disqualifications

You are NOT eligible to apply if:

  • You have completed your engineering before 01-04-2023.

  • You have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training elsewhere under the Apprentices Act, 1961.

  • You have one year or more of work experience.

 

Monthly Stipend

Selected candidates will receive a comprehensive monthly stipend of ₹25,000/- .

  • ₹20,500 will be paid by HPCL.

  • ₹4,500 will be paid directly by the Government of India under the DBT scheme.

Selection Process

The selection for the apprenticeship is straightforward and merit-based:

  1. Merit Screening: Applications will be shortlisted based on the aggregate marks scored in the engineering degree.

  2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates (in a ratio of 1:5 per slot) will be called for document verification via email.

  3. Final Merit List: A final list will be prepared based on merit and successful document verification.

  4. Engagement: Selected candidates will sign a tri-partite contract on the NATS portal.

 

How to Apply – Step-by-Step Guide

The application process is completely online. Follow these steps carefully:

  1. NATS Registration (Mandatory): Ensure you are already registered and your candidature is approved on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS 2.0) portal.

  2. HPCL Portal Registration: Visit the official HPCL apprenticeship application link: http://jobs.hpcl.co.in/Recruit_New/recruitlogin.jsp

  3. New Registration: Click on "Sign up for New Registration" and fill in the required details. You will receive login credentials via email.

  4. Log In: Sign in using the email ID and password provided.

  5. Fill Application Form: Carefully fill in all sections:

    • Personal Details

    • Contact Details (Ensure your email and phone number are valid)

    • Select State of Training: Choose your preferred state from the dropdown menu. (You can select only one).

    • Qualification Details

  6. Upload Documents: Upload your recent passport-sized photograph and signature as per the specifications.

  7. Preview & Final Submit: Preview the entire application form to ensure all details are correct. Read the declaration, check the boxes, and click on "Final Submit."

  8. Confirmation: After successful submission, you will receive a confirmation email with your HPCL Application Number.

Note: Submit only one application. Multiple applications will lead to rejection.

 

Key Benefits After Training

While this is a training position and does not guarantee a permanent job, HPCL offers significant benefits to its apprentices who later apply for regular positions:

  • Age Relaxation: Relaxation in the upper age limit to the extent of the training period (up to one year).

  • Grace Marks: An additional 5% of the marks secured in the Computer Based Test (CBT) for future recruitment will be awarded.

 

Important General Conditions

  • The training period is for ONE YEAR.

  • Reservation and relaxation for SC/ST/OBC-NC/PwBD candidates will be as per Government of India guidelines.

  • Candidates must produce valid caste certificates (in the prescribed format) from the competent authority. OBC-NC candidates must have a "Non-Creamy Layer" certificate.

  • Furnishing false information will lead to immediate disqualification and termination of training.

  • All communication will be done via the registered email ID. Keep it active.
