New Delhi, February 21, 2026: India and Brazil have taken a significant step to enhance bilateral cooperation with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the postal sector. The agreement was signed by Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Minister of Communications, Government of India, and H.E. Mr. Frederico de Siqueira Filho, Minister of Communications, Brazil, during the State Visit of President H.E. Mr. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to India.

The MoU provides a comprehensive framework for collaboration between the Department of Posts, India, and the Ministry of Communications, Brazil, focusing on postal services modernization, digital transformation, and inclusive service delivery. This partnership aims to enhance the efficiency, reach, and reliability of postal operations in both countries.

Shri Scindia highlighted that this agreement will deepen the strategic ties between India and Brazil, promote knowledge sharing, and facilitate the adoption of innovative postal technologies. The MoU is expected to strengthen people-to-people connections and foster greater trade and communication links between the two nations.

H.E. Mr. Frederico de Siqueira Filho emphasized that the collaboration will enable Brazil and India to jointly explore solutions for modern postal services, contributing to economic growth and digital inclusion.

This milestone reflects the shared commitment of India and Brazil to leveraging postal infrastructure for national development, technological innovation, and inclusive service delivery.
