PESB Invites Applications for Director (Production) Post at BVFCL

The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has invited applications for the post of Director (Production) at Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL). The vacancy was officially announced through Advertisement No. 35/2026 dated March 5, 2026.

The position is a Board-level post in the fertilizer sector PSU and falls under the administrative control of the Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.

Vacancy Details

The post of Director (Production) at Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited will become vacant on October 1, 2025. The role is categorized as a Schedule ‘B’ CPSE position with a pay scale of ₹65,000–₹75,000 (IDA).

The selected candidate will be appointed for a period of five years from the date of joining or until superannuation (60 years), whichever is earlier.

Role and Responsibilities

The Director (Production) will be responsible for overseeing the production and operational divisions of the company. The position reports directly to the Chairman and Managing Director and is responsible for ensuring efficient plant operations and optimal utilization of resources.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supervising production activities at the company’s fertilizer plants

• Ensuring operational efficiency and production targets

• Advising the management on technical and operational matters

• Improving plant productivity and resource utilization

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the position must meet the following requirements:

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 40 years

• Candidates must have residual service of at least 3 years before superannuation on the date of vacancy.

Educational Qualification
Applicants must hold an Engineering degree preferably in:

• Chemical Engineering

• Mechanical Engineering

• Electrical Engineering

• Instrumentation Engineering

Candidates with MBA or Post Graduate Diploma in Management will have an added advantage.

Work Experience

Applicants should have at least three years of cumulative technical or operational experience in the last 10 years at a senior management level in large organizations involved in:

• Fertilizers

• Chemicals

• Petrochemicals

Eligible Candidates

The post is open to candidates from:

• Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs)

• Central Government Group ‘A’ services

• Armed Forces officers of Brigadier rank or equivalent

• Public Sector Banks and Financial Institutions

• State Public Sector Enterprises with turnover of ₹750 crore or more

• Private sector companies with turnover of ₹750 crore or more

Preference may be given to candidates working in listed private companies.

Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited was incorporated in 2002 after the de-merger of Namrup fertilizer plants from Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation Limited. The company operates fertilizer manufacturing facilities in Namrup, Assam.
