Petronet LNG Receives Force Majeure Notice from QatarEnergy, Issues Notices to GAIL, IOCL, BPCL
New Delhi, March 5, 2026: Petronet LNG Limited has informed stock exchanges that it has received a Force Majeure notice from its LNG supplier, QatarEnergy, potentially impacting LNG supplies.
Following the notice, Petronet LNG issued corresponding Force Majeure notices to its major off-takers under the relevant Gas Sale and Purchase Agreements. The affected off-takers include:

Indian Oil Corporation Limited

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited
The company disclosed the development to the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange of India under Regulation 30 of SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements (LODR) Regulations.
Petronet LNG stated that the Force Majeure event is ongoing, and the potential financial or operational impact cannot yet be determined. The company added that it is closely monitoring the situation and will update stock exchanges as further developments occur.
Earlier on March 3, 2026, the company had alerted exchanges about the possibility of receiving a Force Majeure notice from QatarEnergy.
Petronet LNG operates major LNG import terminals in Dahej, Gujarat and Kochi, Kerala, which play a key role in India’s natural gas supply chain.
